Rare Stipple Print in Sepia

Description: A young woman kneeling with her arm outstretched offering food or fruit towards four cupids, who sit on a bed of straw under a tree to the left, with town at the foot of a mountain in the background to the right. Details below engraving, engraved by F. Bartolozzi R.A.

Condition: soiling / foxing , hole in print left hand side edge of plate – not affecting image. Good margins a very good and rare engraving from Francesco Bartolozzi.

B.M. Reg: 1868,0808.2981 British Museum have a two copies of this engraving possible latter than this, accrediting the engraving to L. Schiavonetti. (Lettered below the image with title and production detail: 'Drawn by J. Aspinall, at Naples. / Engraved by L. Schiavonetti. / London, Published March 1. 1803, by G. Bartolozzi, No. 82 Wells Street, Oxford Street.'.) Gaetano Bartolozzi (1757-1821) was a son and pupil of F.Bartolozzi.
